Administration FAQs

Here are some common questions about the administration aspect of our brand new term structure.

What is the payment mode like? How much do the classes cost?

The course fees are (after 9% GST):
Our class charges are at $60 per 1hr session and $70 per 1.5hr session.
As we charge on a monthly basis, it depends on the number of weeks it has in each month.
Fees are charged on the 25th of each month for the following month. If this date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the fee will be collected 2 working days before that.
The drop date is 30 days' notice as stated in our terms and conditions
1 make-up class is offered each month.

If I drop my membership and return, do I have to pay the registration fee again?

No. We require a one off payment of $60.00 for our lifetime membership. If you decide to stop attending classes, then resume at a later time, there will be no registration fee charged again.

Since payment is on a monthly basis, do I need to commit for a full term? Can I drop mid term?

It is recommended that customers commit to a full term (8 weeks) as we run structured classes where we follow set lesson plans, work towards pre-allocated events and complete assessments only on certain weeks. However, for any reason, should you wish to drop mid way through, you will need  to give us 30 days notice due to our billing cycle.

What if I want to drop?

We would be sad to lose you. However, if you no longer wish to continue with your classes, you will need to provide us a 30-day written notice to enquiries@theyard.com.sg stating the child, class, and reason for the drop. Your 30-day notice will commence from the time you submit the email.

What if my child doesn’t enjoy the class?

Our recreational level classes focus on basic skills development, strength, flexibility, coordination and we are proud to offer one of the best gymnastics programs in Singapore. All our coaches are qualified and well experienced and we are here to provide the best service possible. We offer trial sessions subject to availability so your child can experience the great atmosphere before you commit to a full term. If for any reason, your child doesn’t like the class, please do not hesitate to approach the coach or our customer service team to find out the reason and to see where we can accommodate your child’s needs. As much as we deliver classes for a group of children at a time, we still care very much about individual development and want to make sure each and every single child goes home with a smile on their face.

Can I change my class if my schedule shifts and I cannot make the current schedule?

Moving within our programme is possible however please note, all our classes are subject to availability. Should you wish to change your current schedule, please do not hesitate to approach our customer service team who will advise you on available classes. If no other spot suits your timings then your  will be placed on the waiting list until space becomes available.

I'm going away, can I freeze or pro-rate my membership?

No. Payment will be charged on a monthly basis and no freeze or pro-rating is possible.

If my child's class is affected by a Public Holiday closure will I be reimbursed?

No. Public Holidays do not affect our payments and therefore no reimbursements or adjustments will be authorised. No make-ups will be given if the class falls on a public holiday.

Do you offer make-up classes? How many and how do I make a booking?

Yes. 1 make-up class is offered in each 4 weeks period (monthly). Make up classes can be arranged due to holidays, illness or any other events when your child misses a class. You will need to log into our online home portal IClassPro, select your preferred days and times for a make-up session and our Front of House team will accept or reject your request within 48 hours. Please note, make-up classes are subject to availability and if your preferred class is currently full, your request will be rejected. If you are unable to use your make-up session within the 4 weeks period (month) then unfortunately it will be lost as it is not possible to carry it forward. Make-up spots are taken on a first come first serve basis so please arrange your make-up session as soon as possible once you know it is needed to avoid any disappointment.

What if I paid the retainer fee and picked my preferred class but you are telling me it is now full?

Retainer fee is charged over the summer holidays when most of our customers are going away for the summer and taking a long break. Anyone wishing to return to gymnastics and wanting to keep their regular spot can pay a retainer fee. Our team ensures your child has the space to return and completes all the necessary arrangements to make it happen. Registering for the retainer fee option is only possible within a given closing date. Should you miss this date, your space will be offered to a new member. If for any reason, your preferred class is now full and unable to return, we offer several options on different days and times. If none of the other class times suit you, your retainer fee will be refunded if you have notified us within the given deadline.

If we drop our enrollment in term 3 and our child passes the assessment, will we get the advanced spot in term 5 when we re-enrol back?

If you decide to drop at a certain point and want to return at a later time, you may lose your space. Please note, we do not secure spaces and we are unable to reserve your spot if you decide to leave us. Subject to availability it may be possible for you to o return to your original class but only if there is space in the class. Spaces are on a first come first serve basis and if the class is full, you will need to select a different class. Alternatively you are able to register on our waiting list and we will contact you once we have a space available.

We understand many of our customers are away over  the summer so have introduced a new system where customers taking a long break and do not register for term 4 but want to resume their spot in term 5 are now able to pay a “retainer fee”. This fee is $120.00 from which $60.00 offsets your child’s enrollment fee in term 5. By paying the retainer fee you reserve your child’s space while you are away. You will be given a deadline for the registration for term 5.

My child is sick, can I get a replacement class?

Yes. If your child is sick, you are able to arrange a make-up class. 1 make-up class is offered in each 4 weeks period (monthly). You will need to log into our online home portal IClassPro, select your preferred day and time for a make-up session and our Front of House team will accept or reject your request within 48 hours. Please note, make-up classes are subject to availability and if your preferred class is currently full, your request will be rejected. If you are unable to use your make-up session within the 4 weeks period (month) then unfortunately it will be lost as it is not possible to carry it forward. If you are unable to arrange a make-up session due to long term illness, then please contact us and we will arrange an alternative solution for you. Any decision in regards to long term illness is subject to management approval and class availability. Should your child not return to gymnastics due to long term illness, a request for a refund will be considered.

If I sign up 2 or more of my kids, will I get a discount? Do you offer siblings discount?

No. I am afraid we do not offer siblings discount or any other discounted rate for multiple children.
